Europe’s most tourist-friendly cities

Amsterdam Houses
There are certain cities in Europe that are more welcoming to tourists than others.
Here, Me and Frenchie throws the spotlight on six of the most tourist-friendly cities in Europe.
Edinburgh
The Scottish capital is a hive of activity throughout the year, but especially so in August for the Fringe Festival and at the end of December for the famous New Year celebrations, or Hogmanay as it is better known. Hotels in Edinburgh are affordable, plentiful and mostly found within walking distance to central attractions such as Edinburgh Castle and Nelson Monument.
Madrid
Explore Madrid’s maze of streets or just relax and watch the world go by in one of the many squares that can be found in the city centre. The culture vultures among you should make a point of visiting the Museo del Prado, which contains pieces from influential artists such as Picasso, as well as the Royal Palace of Madrid. A tour of the Santiago Bernabeu, home of Real Madrid, is also a must, even if you’ve no interest at all in football.
Amsterdam
Is there a more tourist-friendly city in Europe than Amsterdam? Providing you keep your wits about you and be wary of pickpockets and street urchins then Amsterdam is an awesome city for people of all ages. By day, the Museumplein has enough attractions such as the Van Gogh Museum to keep busy and there’s plenty to do at night, including watching live music at the Melweg club.
London
The plethora of free attractions is what makes London such an appealing place to visit. It costs nothing to have a wander around the Tate Modern, Science Museum and Natural History Museum, or to see the sites as the places of interest such as Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, Tower Bridge, Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus are within walking distance from each other. There are also several fascinating boroughs to explore, like Camden and Soho for London show and hotel.
Liverpool
Birthplace of one of the most influential bands in music history, Liverpool is a tourist destination on the up since it was named the 2008 European Capital of Culture. Obviously, The Beatles still have a significant part to play in the city’s tourism industry and places like the Cavern Club remain immensely popular. Like London, Liverpool has an array of free museums and the free Mathew Street Music Festival attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, while the Anfield stadium tour and Liverpool One entertainment complex also prove popular.
Salzburg
Set against a stunning backdrop of the Alps is the picturesque Austrian city of Salzburg. What Salzburg lacks in terms of size – it is the fourth largest city in the country – it more than makes up for in character. The Old Town area is particularly charming and dotted around the city is an array of attractions, including Hellbrunn Castle and Salzburger Dom Cathedral.

When I view your post in google reader, it gets cut off after the
second sentence. Can you make the whole post show up like it does
with other blogs? I sometimes pre-download posts with google reader
on my phone, and jumping out to separate page is not always easy.
Hey Martin, We actually choose to only show a preview of the posts
because of some technical issues with our WordPress theme. Also the
content isn’t always well formated in Google Reader. I’ll see if I
can improve this.
En francais le post ? deja que c pas passionnant , alors imagine en
